The Santa Cruz D Model is a handcrafted dreadnought built around a Sitka spruce top with Brazilian rosewood back and sides - a tonewood pairing that delivers full dreadnought projection while the D Model's tapered bracing keeps the midrange and treble present rather than buried under low-end weight. That bracing approach is the functional heart of this guitar: it was engineered to give players acoustic volume without sacrificing note clarity across the full frequency range, which makes it a strong fit for flatpicking, fingerpicking, and any playing where individual string definition matters.
The mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard and bridge round out a construction package built for long-term stability and response. An LR Baggs pickup system adds stage-ready amplification without requiring an aftermarket installation.
