Description
The Bourgeois Downeast Slope D is a slope-shoulder dreadnought built with genuine Bourgeois DNA - the guitars are voiced and built to Bourgeois specifications, making this an accessible entry into the Bourgeois family without cutting corners on tone. The Aged Tone Sitka spruce top is thermally treated to behave like a broken-in, mature top from the first session, delivering fast attack and a warm, woody midrange that an untreated top might take years to develop. Walnut back and sides push a focused, forward midrange with strong projection, which differentiates this build from a warmer mahogany alternative and pairs well with the responsive top.
The slope-shoulder body shape is Bourgeois's recommended platform for vocal accompaniment and fingerstyle playing, and the 25.5" scale length specifically adds flatpicking capability - so this guitar genuinely covers both approaches without compromise. The soft-V profile mahogany neck and bone nut round out a setup oriented toward players who spend long stretches at the instrument. Ziricote is used for both the fingerboard and bridge, contributing clean note separation across the dynamic range. This guitar ships with a hardshell case.
