The Bourgeois Touchstone Signature OM is built around a torrefied old-growth Alaskan Sitka Spruce top that has been thermally treated to remove the compounds that dampen vibration, giving it the tonal response of an aged instrument from day one. Dana Bourgeois and his team in Lewiston, Maine hand-select, tap-tune, and hand-carve the Adirondack spruce bracing before the top is completed by luthiers trained in the Bourgeois method - a process that delivers boutique-level voicing at a price well below a full USA-built Bourgeois. The back and sides are Madagascar Rosewood, a tonewood known for deep low-end definition and clear, articulate highs.
The OM body with a 25.5" scale suits fingerstyle players who want tonal balance and dynamic range, while the added string tension from the full scale also rewards players who mix in light flatpicking. An ebony fretboard and bridge add stability and contribute to note clarity and attack. This guitar ships with a hardshell case, and as a new guitar over $3,000, it includes our complimentary PLEK service and limited lifetime warranty.
