The PRS Private Stock Angelus pairs a koa back and sides with an Adirondack spruce top under a bracing philosophy designed to lock down the back and sides and direct energy through the top. Taking a unique and innovative approach to guitar building, Paul has adopted a particularly uncommon bracing pattern and approach to achieving sonic perfection. The premise is that the top is the primary sound generator, and that locking down the back and sides reduces energy loss - directing more vibration through the top rather than dissipating it. This is precisely the approach Paul took with these guitars. The result is a powerful guitar with significant dynamic headroom. While this guitar can be played fingerstyle, a pick will bring the realization of just how potent this instrument is. The tone is balanced and full with articulation. Not to mention, it is nothing short of visually.
