Gretsch has been building instruments since 1883, and nothing else sounds like one: Filter'Tron chime, Bigsby shimmer, and bodies that range from chambered Jets to the full-hollow White Falcon.

About Gretsch Guitars

Gretsch started in Brooklyn in 1883 and spent the 1950s defining what an electric guitar could look like: the White Falcon's gold sparkle, the 6120 that Chet Atkins and rockabilly built, the Duo Jet that George Harrison carried through the early Beatles years. That Great Gretsch Sound is a real thing, and it comes from Filter'Tron pickups, hollow and chambered bodies, and Bigsby vibratos.

We stock the line in tiers: Electromatic models are the accessible entry, the Professional Collection covers Players Edition and Vintage Select reissues built in Japan, and limited runs and Custom Shop one-offs land here regularly. Our Gretsch wall splits naturally into two families, the single-cut Jets and the big hollow bodies, and each has its own page with everything currently in stock.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Electromatic and the Professional Collection?

Electromatic is Gretsch's accessible line, built overseas, and the G5220 Jet is one of the best first guitars in the store. The Professional Collection, including Players Edition and Vintage Select models, is built in Japan with premium woods, hardware, and true Filter'Trons. Both are on this page; the title of each listing tells you which tier it is.

Should I get a Jet or a hollow body?

A Jet is the practical Gretsch: chambered but solid-feeling, feedback-resistant, at home anywhere from rockabilly to hard rock. The hollow bodies, Falcons, the Country Gentleman, and the Nashville, give you the full airy Gretsch chime and the iconic looks. We keep a dedicated page for each family, and both are worth playing in person.

Do your Gretsch listings show the actual guitar?

Yes. Most Gretsches that come through here are limited runs or one-offs, so serialized listings photograph the exact instrument you receive, and it is inspected and set up before it ships.
