Light, fast, and aggressive, the SG is Gibson's devil-horned workhorse: all-mahogany bite with unlimited upper-fret access. From the no-frills Special to Maestro Vibrola-equipped Custom Shop '61 and '64 reissues, every SG here is inspected and set up before it ships.

About the Gibson SG

Born in 1961 as the redesigned Les Paul, the SG became an icon in its own right: the guitar of Angus Young, Tony Iommi, and Derek Trucks. The all-mahogany body sheds the maple cap for a rawer, more immediate attack, and the double-cutaway design puts every fret within reach. We stock modern production SGs alongside Custom Shop reissues of the '61 Standard, '63 Special, and '64 Standard with Maestro Vibrola, including Murphy Lab aged examples. Like all of our Gibson inventory, individual guitars are photographed and listed one at a time, so the exact pieces here rotate constantly.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between an SG Standard and an SG Special?

The Standard ships with humbuckers and full binding-era appointments; the Special traditionally carries P-90 single coils and simpler cosmetics. Both share the all-mahogany body and slim, fast neck the SG is known for.

Do you stock vintage-reissue SGs?

We regularly carry Gibson Custom Shop '61, '63, and '64 SG reissues, including Maestro Vibrola models and Murphy Lab aged finishes. Stock is one-off and rotates quickly. Reach out if you're after a specific spec.
