About Eastman Acoustic Guitars

The E-Series is the heart of the line: all-solid dreadnoughts, OMs, slope shoulders, and parlors tiered by tonewood, from the sapele E1 models up through the rosewood E20s and the flagship E40s. Many carry Eastman's Thermo-Cure torrefied tops (the TC suffix), which bake the spruce for the dried-out response of a decades-old guitar. The AC Series covers Grand Auditorium and jumbo bodies with cutaways and electronics, the ACTG models shrink Eastman quality to travel size, and the DM gypsy jazz guitars round out the catalog. Models rotate with each shipment, so if a specific model is not listed it is usually between batches; call and we will check what is on order.

What does TC or Thermo-Cure mean on an Eastman?

Thermo-Cure is Eastman's torrefaction process: the solid spruce top is slowly baked to drive out moisture and resins, which mimics decades of aging. TC models sound drier, louder, and more open than a brand-new top usually does.

How do Eastman acoustic model numbers work?

The number is the wood tier and the letters are the body. An E10D is a tier-10 dreadnought; an E20OM is a tier-20 orchestra model; SS means slope shoulder and P means parlor. Higher numbers get fancier tonewoods: sapele in the E1 and E2 models, mahogany and rosewood up the line, with Adirondack tops appearing from the E10 models up.

Are Eastman acoustics all solid wood?

The E-Series is all solid wood, top, back, and sides, with traditional dovetail neck joints. The AC and travel models use solid tops, with solid or laminated back and sides depending on the tier. Every listing spells out the exact woods for that guitar.
