The EVH Wolfgang Special 2015 Tour in Distressed Ivory is a solidbody electric built around the specs Eddie Van Halen developed for his own stage instruments, making it a strong choice for players who want that platform without stepping into USA territory. The basswood body pairs with a graphite-reinforced quartersawn maple neck carved and rolled to EVH's specifications, with a hand-rubbed satin urethane back that keeps things fast and comfortable under the fretting hand. The ebony fingerboard runs a 12"-16" compound radius across 22 jumbo frets, which flattens out as you move up the neck - a practical advantage for bending and lead work at higher positions.
The AL3 humbucker at the neck delivers a mid-forward, balanced tone suited to rhythm playing, while the AL2 at the bridge is voiced for articulate, cutting lead tone with harmonic depth; both pickups are direct-mounted to the body for added resonance and sustain. The EVH Floyd Rose is set up dive-bomb-only per Eddie's design intent, and the included D-Tuna gives you instant Drop D access without retuning. The Distressed Ivory finish with ebony board directly references one of Eddie's 2015 touring configurations, which adds collector and tribute appeal on top of the guitar's performance credentials. At 7lb 6oz, it's a light, stage-ready instrument that comes with a gigbag.
