This Fender Custom Shop 1963 Telecaster Relic is a period-accurate build aimed at players who want a '60s Telecaster experience with the wood selection and fit-and-finish that production models can't match. The alder body is finished in nitrocellulose lacquer and factory-aged in Fiesta Red, with this pre-owned example showing minimal wear beyond that factory aging. The rift-sawn maple neck carries a '60s Oval C profile and an AAA rosewood fingerboard with a 9.5" radius, vintage clay dot inlays, and a 25.5" scale. Period-correct details include a bone nut and a '58-'63 Tele bridge with threaded steel barrel saddles. The pickup pairing sets this guitar apart from a standard Tele: the bridge runs a hand-wound Original Blackguard pickup for punchy, throaty midrange with classic Tele bite, while the neck uses a hand-wound Twisted Tele pickup that leans toward Stratocaster-like chime and clarity. Together they give you a broader tonal range than a conventional single-wound pair, making this a practical choice for players who move between clean rhythm, roots-style lead work, and moderate overdrive. At 7 lbs 4.6 oz, it sits in a range that's comfortable over long sets without sacrificing sustain. At this price, it includes our complimentary PLEK service and limited lifetime warranty.
