This Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition 1957 Telecaster Super Heavy Relic is built around a lightweight ash body, quartersawn maple neck, and a period-correct 55-57 Tele bridge - all finished in heavily aged nitrocellulose lacquer in Aged Lake Placid Blue. At 7 lb 2 oz, the ash body delivers the note separation and snap that Telecaster players expect from that wood, without the weight that makes long sets uncomfortable. The Super Heavy Relic treatment is Fender Custom Shop's most extreme aging level, simulating deep road wear across the lacquer, hardware, and fretwork so the guitar feels broken-in rather than cosmetically distressed.
The quartersawn maple neck carries a '57-style soft V back shape, which runs fuller through the shoulders than a C, and pairs with a quartersawn maple fingerboard at a 9.5" radius - all appropriate to the era this build references. The Custom Shop Josefina Hand Wound '58 Tele pickups are wound by Josefina Campos, Fender Custom Shop's Master Pickup Winder, and deliver articulate Tele bite with more body than the earliest '50s winds, staying responsive to pick attack across clean and driven settings. At this price point, the guitar includes complimentary PLEK setup and a limited lifetime warranty through Righteous Guitars, and ships in a Fender Custom Shop Deluxe Hardshell Case.
