Description
The Furch Vintage Pure OOM-EMa is a 12-fret, 00-body acoustic built around an Engelmann spruce top paired with African mahogany back, sides, and neck - a combination Furch sources describe as producing a focused tone with strong midrange presence and clear articulation, well suited to fingerstyle, folk, and singer-songwriter playing. The OOM format joins the neck at the 12th fret and carries a 24-9/16" scale length, which reduces string tension compared to a standard 25.4" scale and gives the instrument a more relaxed feel under the hands. The 15-3/4" fingerboard radius and Furch Soft V neck profile add further context for players evaluating fit. An ebony fingerboard and bridge offer durability and consistent response over time. Furch's CNR System Active neck joint is designed to self-regulate string action as humidity fluctuates, which is a meaningful practical advantage for players who move between environments or don't maintain a humidity-controlled space. The UV-polymerized open-pore finish keeps wood pores unobstructed, allowing the top to vibrate more freely than a thick film finish typically permits. Period-correct appointments - Gotoh nickel patina tuners, tortoise-style binding, and a black walnut rosette - keep the aesthetic understated and consistent with the guitar's vintage-inspired brief. This is a strong option for the fingerpicker or acoustic songwriter who wants a compact, responsive instrument built to stay in adjustment.
