The Gibson 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue Ultra Light Aged in Southern Fade is a Custom Shop build spec'd to match the original 1959 blueprint, constructed from laser-scanned dimensions with period-correct joinery throughout. The body pairs a 1-piece lightweight mahogany back with a 2-piece figured maple top joined with hide glue, and the mahogany neck is set the same way - both methods Gibson used in the original run. The 24.75" scale, 12" radius Indian rosewood fingerboard, and 50s Rounded Medium C neck profile work together to deliver the playing geometry of a late-50s Les Paul without modification. Murphy Lab Ultra Light Aging treats both the nitrocellulose lacquer and hardware to simulate decades of light play wear, landing between a clean new-build and a full relic for players who want vintage character without aggressive distressing.
The Custombucker Alnico 3 pickups are unpotted and wound with unbalanced coils on 42 AWG wire, replicating the open, touch-sensitive, and articulate response of the original Patent Applied For humbuckers. The ABR-1 bridge and lightweight aluminum stop bar tailpiece match the original hardware spec. At just over 8 lbs, it carries well for extended playing. This guitar suits the player who wants a working instrument built to the closest possible tolerance of a 1959 original, not a showpiece that sits in a stand. It ships in a Brown/Pink Lifton Reissue 5-latch case, and at this price point it includes Righteous Guitars' complimentary PLEK service and limited lifetime warranty.
