Description
This is a Gibson Custom Shop "Inspired By Joe Bonamassa" Aged Les Paul Goldtop - a limited-run signature built around the spec of a heavily modified 1955 Goldtop that passed through Bonamassa's father's shop when Joe was eleven years old. The carved maple top sits over a two-piece light mahogany body, with a one-piece mahogany neck cut to a rounded 1959 profile on a 24.75" scale with a rosewood fingerboard and acrylic trapezoid inlays. Burstbucker 2 and 3 pickups replicate the unmatched bobbin-winding and Alnico II magnet construction of original late-1950s PAF humbuckers, delivering fat yet articulate humbucker tone with the output to fill sonic space without overdriving an amp - well-suited to blues-rock and classic rock players.
The hardware package runs vintage-correct: a non-wired ABR-1 bridge, aluminum stopbar tailpiece, vintage CTS pots, and bumble bee capacitors, all in aged nickel consistent with pre-1962 spec. This pre-owned example is in Good condition, with a headstock repair crack, hardware oxidation, and scratches and dings beyond the factory aging - placing it firmly in player-grade territory rather than collector-grade, which makes it a practical entry point to a scarce and historically grounded Custom Shop signature.
