Description
The Gibson J-45 Standard is a round-shoulder dreadnought built for players who need a workhorse acoustic that performs equally well on stage and off. The solid Sitka spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides are braced with hand-scalloped X-bracing, which focuses the projection into the midrange while keeping the bass tight and the decay crisp. The 24.75" scale and 12" radius rosewood fingerboard suit both rhythm strumming and fingerpicking without favoring one approach over the other.
A SlimTaper mahogany neck makes extended playing comfortable, and the nitrocellulose lacquer finish will develop character naturally over time. The LR Baggs VTC pickup runs volume and tone controls through the soundhole, keeping the controls accessible to you and out of sight from the audience - a practical solution for players who move between acoustic and amplified settings.
