This Paul Reed Smith Wood Library Custom 24-08 in Purple Mist is a solidbody electric built on the classic PRS formula - flame maple top, mahogany back, and a 25" scale - with a switching system that meaningfully expands what one guitar can cover. The roasted maple neck, a Wood Library-specific appointment, adds stability and is paired with a rosewood fingerboard at a 10" radius, with bird inlays marking the positions. The 58/15 LT pickups are low-wind, TCI-voiced humbuckers that run clean and articulate, with focused midrange and balanced response across the frequency range - they're well-suited to clean playing, edge-of-breakup tones, and produce particularly musical results when split.
That coil-splitting is handled by two independent mini-toggles working alongside the 3-way selector, giving you eight pickup configurations in total: full humbuckers, dual single-coil, and mixed positions. Players who want a wide tonal range without switching guitars mid-set will find this layout practical. At 7 lb 12.3 oz, it sits in a comfortable mid-weight range. This pre-owned example is in excellent condition with minimal wear, and comes with a hardshell case, complimentary PLEK setup, and a limited lifetime warranty.
