Description
The PRS Special Semi-Hollow is a USA Core production guitar built around one of the most versatile pickup configurations available at this price point: two McCarty III humbuckers flanking a Narrowfield middle pickup, controlled by a 5-way blade switch and two mini-toggle coil taps for 12 total combinations. That range spans from warm, full humbucking tones to articulate, punchy single-coil-style voices, all with notably even output across positions - which makes it a practical one-guitar solution for players who cover broad sonic ground. The semi-hollow Black Korina body adds acoustic resonance and a lively attack that the pickups reproduce faithfully, while chambering keeps the weight at 7 lb 7.9 oz, a practical advantage for longer sets. A flame maple top, East Indian Rosewood neck, and Ziricote fingerboard with bird inlays round out a tonewood spec that goes well beyond standard configuration for this model. The Pattern neck profile runs on a 25" scale with a 10" fingerboard radius, sitting between typical Fender and Gibson dimensions and accommodating a wide range of playing styles without committing hard to either. The PRS Gen III Tremolo is engineered for reliable pitch return under expressive use, making vibrato work fully practical rather than a compromise. This guitar ships with a hardshell case, and as a purchase over $3,000, it includes Righteous Guitars' complimentary PLEK service and limited lifetime warranty.
