About Gibson Guitars

Orville Gibson began building instruments in Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1894, and the company that bears his name went on to define the electric guitar. The Les Paul, SG, ES-335, Flying V, and Explorer all came from Gibson's golden era, while the J-45 and SJ-200 did the same for the flat-top acoustic. From Chuck Berry and B.B. King to Jimmy Page, Angus Young, and Slash, Gibson tone is the backbone of rock, blues, and country.

Today Gibson builds its electrics in Nashville, Tennessee and its acoustics in Bozeman, Montana, while the Custom Shop recreates golden-era instruments in obsessive detail, many with Murphy Lab aging. As an authorized Gibson dealer we stock the range in depth: Original and Modern Collection electrics, Custom Shop and Murphy Lab reissues, and acoustics from the J-45 and Hummingbird to the SJ-200, with each guitar listed individually by serial number.

Les Paul, SG, or ES

The Les Paul is the flagship: a carved maple top over mahogany with thick sustain and humbucker warmth. The SG is lighter and faster, with all-mahogany bite and easy access to the top frets. The ES-335 splits the difference between solid-body punch and hollow-body air. If you want something bolder, the Explorer and Flying V deliver the same voice in more radical shapes.

Original Collection or Custom Shop

Gibson USA's Original Collection keeps the classic 50s and 60s specs, while the Modern Collection adds weight relief, slimmer necks, and updated switching. The Custom Shop recreates specific golden-era instruments, from 1959 Les Paul Standards to dot-neck ES-335s, with period-correct materials and construction. Murphy Lab aging takes it further, so a new reissue can look and feel like it has lived a life on stage.

Gibson acoustics: J-45, Hummingbird, and SJ-200

The J-45 is the workhorse: a round-shouldered dreadnought that sits perfectly in a mix. The Hummingbird adds square shoulders, ornate looks, and a fuller strummed voice. The SJ-200 is the King of the Flat-Tops, a big maple jumbo with commanding projection. All three are available in Standard and Studio trims, plus Custom Shop reissues of the golden-era originals.
