This PRS Santana Retro Artist Package is a USA-built signature guitar designed around the pre-factory instruments Paul Reed Smith built for Carlos Santana in the early 1980s, making it a historically grounded choice for players who want that lineage in a current production instrument. The Artist Package designation steps up the standard Santana Retro with an artist-grade figured maple top and Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with matching headstock veneer - materials that place it near the top of PRS USA production without crossing into Private Stock.
The mahogany body pairs with a figured maple neck in the Santana Retro profile, a 24.5-inch scale length, 10-inch fingerboard radius, and jumbo frets - a combination that rewards expressive lead playing and sustain-focused styles. The pickup pairing puts a Santana signature humbucker in the neck and a PRS 58/15 at the bridge: the Santana neck voice is warm and singing, while the 58/15 delivers a clear, balanced vintage-flavored humbucker tone at the bridge. Bird inlays, the PRS Patented Tremolo, and a hardshell case complete the package. This pre-owned example is in very good condition, with a ding and some scratches on the back of the body.
