About the Fender American Ultra Series

Launched in 2019 and refreshed as American Ultra II, the Ultra line is Fender's answer to the modern player: Noiseless pickups that keep single-coil character without the hum, a compound-radius fingerboard that tightens from vintage curve to flat as you move up the neck, a Modern D profile with rolled edges, and a contoured heel for unobstructed upper-fret access. Ultra Luxe models push further with premium finishes and appointments, and anniversary and limited editions add rarer colors and features. These are built in Corona, California as the top of Fender's production range, one step below the Custom Shop. Our stock is one-off and rotates; the guitar you see listed is the exact instrument you'll receive.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between American Ultra and American Ultra II?

Ultra II is the current generation, with updated Noiseless pickups, refreshed finishes, and refined hardware over the 2019 originals. The core recipe carries over: compound-radius neck, Modern D profile, sculpted heel, and locking tuners.

Is American Ultra better than American Professional?

They aim at different players rather than one being better. The American Professional stays closer to traditional Fender feel and voice; the Ultra is the modern-performance take, with noiseless pickups, a flatter compound radius, and a sculpted heel. If you play a lot of lead work up the neck, the Ultra usually wins; if you want classic Fender character, look at the Professional.
