The Gibson 1959 Les Paul Reissue VOS is a Custom Shop instrument built to replicate the construction of an original '59 Les Paul as closely as a production guitar can, and at $6,700 it comes in well below what a period original commands. The one-piece lightweight mahogany body and hide-glue-fit figured maple top follow the non-weight-relieved slab construction of the originals, and the solid mahogany neck carries the rounded Medium C profile Gibson documented from surviving '59 examples. At 24.75" scale and a 12" fingerboard radius, the playing geometry is exactly what vintage-spec players expect.
The Custombucker Alnico III pickups are unpotted and wired to CTS 500K audio-taper pots with paper-in-oil capacitors, which gives them the dynamic, touch-sensitive response that PAF-style humbuckers are known for - back off the volume and they clean up, dig in and they push. The ABR-1 bridge with nickel-plated brass saddles and the lightweight aluminum stop bar are period-correct hardware choices that contribute to how the guitar transfers string energy into the body. VOS nitrocellulose lacquer finish delivers a gently aged feel without heavy artificial distressing. This guitar ships with a hardshell case, and as a new guitar over $3,000, it includes Righteous Guitars' complimentary PLEK service and limited lifetime warranty.
