Description
The Martin 000-18 is an all-solid auditorium guitar built around a spruce top and mahogany back and sides, offering a focused, dry midrange character that suits fingerpickers and acoustic soloists who want note-to-note definition rather than a blended, boomy response. The 2025 version brings GE scalloped X-bracing - the same spec used on higher-priced Martin models - which opens up the top and gives the guitar an uncompressed voice even at lower playing volumes. The 24.9" scale length reduces string tension compared to a standard 25.4" Martin, which makes sustained fretting, chord shapes, and bending easier across long playing sessions. An ebony fingerboard and ebony bridge are harder and more stable than rosewood alternatives, and the 16" fingerboard radius keeps the playing surface relatively flat for comfortable single-note work. The GE Modified Low Oval neck with High-Performance Taper transitions from a chunkier feel near the nut to a slimmer profile as you move up the neck, which plays well for both open-position work and upper-fret access. Bone nut and saddle keep the instrument transferring vibration directly into the top rather than softening it through synthetic materials. The guitar comes with a Martin hardshell case, and at this price point it includes our complimentary PLEK service and limited lifetime warranty. If you play fingerstyle, record acoustic at home, or perform in smaller rooms, the 000-18 gives you a practical, well-built tool with a tonal character that rewards precise playing.
