The Fender American Vintage II 1961 Stratocaster is a year-specific vintage recreation built around the specs that defined early-'60s Strats: alder body, slab rosewood fingerboard, and Pure Vintage '61 single-coil pickups. The 7.25" fingerboard radius is a period-correct spec that has largely disappeared from standard production guitars, making chords feel natural as the curve follows the natural arc of the hand. The Pure Vintage '61 pickups are voiced to sit between brand-new and aged output - the bridge delivers articulate bite, the middle offers balanced chime, and the neck rounds out the set with warm lows.
Bent steel saddles on the Pure Vintage synchronized tremolo contribute to that characteristic '61 Strat response. The nitrocellulose lacquer finish over the alder body allows the wood to breathe in a way that thicker modern finishes don't. This guitar suits a player who wants period-correct construction and hardware rather than a modernized take on the vintage Strat format. It ships with a vintage-style brown hardshell case.
