The Furch Red Deluxe Gc-LI a is a grand auditorium cutaway acoustic built around an Alpine spruce soundboard paired with Malaysian blackwood back and sides - a combination the manufacturer describes as delivering clear, open highs with a warm, complex low end. Both soundboards are individually voiced, and Furch's proprietary scalloped X-bracing works with the Full-Pore High-Gloss finish to keep the top moving freely and transferring energy efficiently. The CNR System Active neck joint uses a carbon-reinforced structure with a dual-action truss rod to automatically compensate for humidity shifts, maintaining consistent action over time without manual adjustment. A Booster Soundport reduces internal air pressure so the top responds more freely, and directs sound toward the player - a meaningful advantage for players focused on unplugged performance.
The Bevel Duo ergonomic treatment - a forearm bevel on the front and a rib bevel on the rear - reduces fatigue during extended playing sessions. The African mahogany neck carries a Soft V profile over a figured ziricote fingerboard with a 15-3/4" radius and 25-9/16" scale length, a setup that accommodates both fingerpicking and flatpicking styles. Appointments include a figured ziricote bridge, Hawaiian koa binding, abalone purfling, and White Pearl Roman numeral position markers. Gotoh 510 Silver Patina tuners with a 1:21 gear ratio keep the instrument reliably in tune.
