Description
The Gibson 70s Explorer in Classic White is an all-mahogany solidbody built around the angular Explorer format, which gives you some of the best upper-fret access of any standard body shape. Gibson's 24.75" scale length keeps the feel familiar for players coming from Les Pauls or SGs, and the SlimTaper neck with a 12" rosewood fingerboard radius suits players who prefer a flatter board under their fretting hand. The 70s Tribute humbuckers run Alnico 5 magnets with more winds than a PAF-style pickup and wax potting to prevent microphonic feedback at stage volumes - the result is a punchy, high-output voice that pushes an amp into overdrive without much effort, and holds together well in drop tunings or hard-driving rhythm work.

An Aluminum Nashville Tune-O-Matic with a stopbar tailpiece keeps the setup straightforward and the intonation reliable. At just under 8 lbs, it's a reasonable weight for a solid mahogany guitar. This is a strong choice for a gigging rock player who wants a USA-made Explorer with practical, stage-ready specs and a hardshell case included.
