Description
The Gibson Les Paul Standard 50s is a period-correct production Les Paul built around the same core formula as the late-1950s originals: solid mahogany body, carved maple top, 24.75" scale, and a hand-wired control circuit. The Vintage '50s neck profile is the defining physical characteristic here - a substantial, rounded carve that is noticeably thicker than the '60s sibling or most slim-taper necks, so players coming from modern instruments should plan on an adjustment period. The 12" fingerboard radius and 22 medium-jumbo frets on the bound rosewood board suit bending and chord work well.
Burstbucker 1 and 2 are PAF-voiced humbuckers wound with Alnico II magnets and intentionally mismatched coil counts, producing a warm, articulate midrange with lively highs - these are low-to-medium output pickups, not high-gain drivers, so players expecting modern saturation at amp input may want a boost pedal in the chain.
