Description
The Gretsch Falcon Hollow Body with String-Thru Bigsby is a fully hollow, single-cutaway arched maple guitar built for players who want classic Gretsch character alongside modern reliability. PRO-FT Filter'Tron humbucking pickups deliver the articulate, punchy midrange and controlled top-end chime that defines the Gretsch voice, without the feedback sensitivity that can make thinner-voiced hollowbodies difficult to manage on louder stages. The 25.5" scale length and 12" fingerboard radius on the ebony board give the neck a relatively flat feel that suits both rhythm work and single-note lines. The Standard "U" profile is a full, rounded shape - worth playing in person if you haven't had one in your hands before.
The Bigsby B6GP string-through vibrato improves on conventional Bigsby loading by routing strings through the tailpiece, which speeds up string changes and increases vibration transfer for added sustain. The Adjusto-Matic bridge on a pinned ebony base keeps intonation stable and eliminates the bridge movement that plagues floating-base setups. At just under 8 lbs for a fully hollow 17" body, this guitar balances well for long sets. This new example ships in the G6242L Gretsch Deluxe Hardshell case, and it qualifies for our complimentary PLEK service and limited lifetime warranty.
