The Gretsch Limited G6134T-58 Penguin is a Japan-built Professional Collection solidbody built around a chambered mahogany body with an arched laminated maple top - a construction pairing that adds warmth through the chambering while the maple top contributes brightness and articulation. The 24.6" scale and 12"-radius ebony fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets give the neck a slightly compressed, vintage-correct feel that rewards players who work close to the body. TV Jones Ray Butts Ful-Fidelity Filter'Trons are the pickups here, built from Ray Butts' original notes and voiced non-wax-potted in the historically correct manner - low output, tight bass, and an open, articulate top end that reproduces vintage Filter'Tron character more faithfully than any current production alternative.
The String-Thru Bigsby B3CP paired with a pinned Space Control bridge is a meaningful hardware choice: the string-through loading and pinned bridge directly address the tuning instability that players often associate with standard Bigsby setups. This guitar suits the player who wants expressive vibrato use, vintage clarity, and low-gain articulation rather than high-output performance. At this price point, it also comes with our complimentary PLEK service and limited lifetime warranty. Includes hardshell case.
