Description
The HD-28 sits at the top of Martin's standard series dreadnoughts, distinguished from the D-28 by its herringbone top trim and scalloped X-bracing - the combination that defined the pre-war Martin sound. The ebony fingerboard and bridge add stiffness that translates to tighter note definition and better sustain across the full tonal range, while the High-Performance Taper on the modified low oval neck makes the 25.4" scale more accessible for players with smaller hands or those coming from electric guitars. This example ships in the Ambertone finish, a graduated sunburst that deepens toward the edges of the spruce top. Every HD-28 we sell includes our complimentary PLEK setup and is backed by our limited lifetime warranty.
