Description
The Martin M-28 is a Grand Auditorium acoustic built on a solid spruce top and solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, with Golden Era-inspired scalloped X-bracing that delivers articulate response and strong projection across the full frequency range. The wider lower bout gives you dreadnought-level volume and resonance, while the shallower 000-style body depth keeps the guitar comfortable under your arm for long sessions - a practical advantage if you want big output without the bulk of a full dreadnought. The 25.4" scale length pairs with a GE Modified Low Oval neck profile and High-Performance Taper, which together increase string tension for slightly brighter tone, enhanced sustain, and clear string-to-string definition.
A 16" fingerboard radius flattens out the fretboard for easier chord voicings and single-note work, and the ebony fingerboard and bridge add density to the instrument's tone transfer and long-term durability. This combination of body format, scale, and neck geometry makes the M-28 well-suited to players who move between strumming and fingerpicking, or who need a stage and studio guitar that balances volume with control. Style 28 appointments - herringbone binding, abalone diamonds-and-squares inlays, and the Aging Toner finish - give it a vintage-referencing aesthetic without deviating from Martin's working-guitar build standard.
