The PRS McCarty 594 Hollowbody II 10 Top is a fully hollow electric built around a carved maple body with mahogany sides, a mahogany neck, and a flame maple 10 Top on both faces - a construction that produces acoustic-like complexity and sustain from an instrument that weighs just over six pounds. The 24.594" scale length is the defining measurement of the 594 family, splitting the difference between shorter vintage PRS scales and standard 25.5" territory, and it shapes both string tension and overall playability in a way that experienced players will notice immediately.
The Pattern Vintage neck profile shares its width with the standard Pattern carve but runs slightly thicker front to back with an asymmetrical shape - worth playing before you buy if neck depth matters to your technique. A 10" fingerboard radius on the rosewood board keeps bends comfortable across the full length of the neck. McCarty III humbuckers are PRS's current-generation vintage-voiced pickups: articulate and full in humbucking mode, and capable of nuanced, clear single-coil tones when split. The PRS two-piece bridge with brass saddles and a bone nut contribute to sustain and tuning stability without adding unnecessary mass to an already light guitar.
