Description
The PRS Special Semi-Hollow is a Core US-built instrument that pairs a semi-hollow Black Korina body with a flame maple top, delivering the natural airiness semi-hollows are known for while maintaining the structural integrity players need for louder, driven playing. The 25" scale sits between a Les Paul and a Stratocaster in feel, offering balanced brightness without the looseness of a longer scale. A Ziricote fingerboard on the Pattern neck profile - medium in girth - gives you a well-defined playing surface with consistent feel across the 10" radius.
The pickup configuration is where this guitar earns its versatility: McCarty III humbuckers at the neck and bridge combine with a Narrowfield single-coil in the middle, and a 5-way blade switch plus two coil-tap mini-toggles on the humbuckers opens up twelve distinct pickup combinations. That range covers warm full humbucking tones, punchy Strat-adjacent clarity, and everything between - well-suited to players who want one guitar to handle multiple styles without level drops between pickup changes. The PRS Gen III tremolo handles tuning stability under use, and the bird inlays serve as fretboard markers. This guitar ships with a hardshell case, complimentary PLEK setup, and a limited lifetime warranty.
