The CE 24 puts a bolt-on maple neck on the Custom 24 platform for extra snap and attack at a friendlier price. We like the formula enough to commission our own: the Righteous Run CE 24s on this page are limited editions spec'd exclusively for our showroom.

About the PRS CE 24

CE stands for Classic Electric, a model PRS first offered in 1988 and brought back in 2016. It keeps the carved maple top, mahogany body, and 85/15 pickups of the Custom 24 but swaps the set neck for a bolt-on maple neck with a satin finish, which adds brightness and immediacy to the attack. The line includes hardtail and semi-hollow variants and signature versions, and it has become one of the best value-per-dollar guitars in the American PRS catalog. Alongside standard CE 24s, we regularly commission Righteous Run CE 24 limited editions in custom colors you will only find here.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between a CE 24 and a Custom 24?

The CE 24 uses a bolt-on maple neck where the Custom 24 uses a set mahogany neck. That construction change brightens the attack and adds a bit of percussive snap, and it brings the price down meaningfully. Body, top carve, scale, and pickups are otherwise close siblings.

What is a Righteous Run CE 24?

Righteous Runs are limited-edition PRS builds commissioned by Righteous Guitars in colors and specs you will not find in the standard catalog. They are full American-made PRS guitars, built in Maryland, available only through our shop.

Will my CE 24 be set up before it ships?

Every guitar we sell is inspected and professionally set up before shipping, and anything over $3K gets a complimentary PLEK fret dress on Georgia's only PLEK station.
