Builder's Edition is Taylor with every sharp edge literally rounded off: chamfered bodies, beveled armrests, compound-carve necks, and V-Class bracing, designed by Andy Powers for players who live with a guitar for hours at a time.

What Builder's Edition Means

When Andy Powers introduced V-Class bracing, the Builder's Edition line became his showcase for what a modern flattop could feel like. Every Builder's Edition gets ergonomic carves you notice the second you sit down with one: a beveled armrest, a chamfered cutaway your hand rolls over instead of around, and a Silent Satin finish that does not squeak against your shirt. Voicing is tuned per model rather than per series, which is why the line spans maple (614ce), koa (K14ce), rosewood, and the 652ce 12-string.

Builder's Edition models rotate through in small numbers. The 324ce and 814ce versions come and go quickly; everything shown here is in stock now, and we can tell you what is on order.

Frequently asked questions

What makes Builder's Edition different from a standard Taylor?

Ergonomics and voicing. Builder's Edition guitars add a beveled armrest, chamfered body edges and cutaway, a compound-carve neck profile, and Silent Satin finish, with V-Class bracing voiced specifically for each model rather than shared across a series.

Is the Builder's Edition 324ce in stock?

Builder's Edition models arrive in small batches and rotate quickly. Everything on this page is in stock right now; if the 324ce or another model is not shown, call us and we will check what is inbound.

Do Builder's Edition guitars include PLEK service?

Yes. Every guitar we sell over $3,000 includes a pass through our in-house PLEK station, and all current Builder's Edition models qualify. You get a precision fret dress and setup before the guitar ships.
